The production phase is the stage of the project after the design has been signed-off, right through to when the files are sent to print or shown on-screen. Depending on the complexity of the project there can be a lot that goes into getting files print-ready or screen-ready, some of which we will go into more depth on below.
In the production phase, the focus shifts from conceptualisation to actualisation. The designers and artists involved in the project start to bring the design to life by creating the final artwork. This involves a series of tasks such as colour correction, retouching, and file-format conversions to make sure that the artwork is optimised for its end use.
At this stage, attention to detail is critical as even small errors can have a significant impact on the final output. Our Artworkers ensure that the colours match the approved samples, the text is clear and legible at the size it will be seen, and the images are of high quality. We may also have to resize the artwork to fit specific dimensions, crop images, or add bleed and margins to accommodate for printing processes.
Once the artwork is complete, we make sure it is thoroughly reviewed and proofed to catch any errors before it is finally sent to the printer. The production phase can be time-consuming and labour-intensive, but it is also the most rewarding as it is when the design finally takes shape and comes to life.
At Q+H, the production phase is an integral part of the design process, where the designer's vision is transformed into a tangible product. Our Artworkers apply the utmost attention to detail, a high level of technical expertise, and a thorough understanding of printing processes and screen displays to ensure that the final artwork is of the highest quality and meets our client's expectations.
