In previous years the award’s identity and online presence was somewhat disjointed with information sitting across various brand specific or partner websites. There was no single destination to discover everything you needed to know about the award. Our aim was simple; to design a digital experience that could grow alongside the award, raising its profile whilst ensuring it was a key destination in the literary calendar – both in the UK and overseas.
The site was designed with simplicity in mind, expanding on the ethos of the awards to provide something that felt unique. A pastel-based palette, framed by a contrasting black border, allowed for the subtle addition of colour to the site whilst providing a calming environment. This allowed content to firmly be put first. The award has a rich history so we devised a navigation that allows visitors to filter content and tailor their experience, easily jumping between years to find the content they’re looking for. All whilst being built through a bespoke, integrated CMS system – easy to maintain, edit and control the design, in real time.
